Care in a Language You Are Comfortable In
CCBST draws students from more than thirty countries, and a good share of them are having medical and dental conversations in a second or third language. That is harder than it sounds when someone is describing what they are about to do to your teeth.
Our team speaks Farsi and English. If Farsi is your language, you can explain what is bothering you properly and ask the questions you actually want to ask. If neither is your first language, tell us when you book and we will slow down, use plain words, and show you on a screen rather than talking at you.
You will not be asked to sign anything you do not follow.

What International Students Should Know About Dental Coverage
Here is the part most clinics leave you to work out yourself.
On a study permit? The CDCP almost certainly does not cover you.
The Canadian Dental Care Plan is for residents who meet income and residency rules, and a study permit generally does not meet them. Better to know now than at the front desk.
There is no CCBST student plan.
Private career colleges do not run student health and dental plans the way the public universities do, so there is no student card that covers your teeth.
You may have coverage you have forgotten about.
A job, a spouse's plan, or a private policy bought when you arrived. Any of those can usually be billed directly.
Bring the paperwork, even if you do not understand it.
We will read it with you before anything starts, and tell you what it does and does not pay for.
Newcomers
If You Are New to Canada
If you have become a permanent resident, the picture changes. Permanent residents who meet the income rules may qualify for the Canadian Dental Care Plan, which we accept.
If you came to Canada as a refugee or asylum claimant, we accept coverage through the IFHP for the services it covers.
Either way, bring whatever documents you have. Cards, letters, permit papers, anything. We would rather spend ten minutes reading them with you than have you skip a visit because you were not sure.

Dr. Pouria is an outstanding dentist—professional, knowledgeable, incredibly kind, and always welcoming. He takes the time to explain every step of the treatment and makes every visit comfortable and stress-free. The other dentists are also fantastic, and the entire team is amazing. The dental assistants and the front desk staff are always friendly, respectful, and very organized. Their customer service is exceptional, and they truly care about their patients. Another huge benefit is that they accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP), making quality dental care much more accessible. I highly recommend Pearl Dental Group to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dental clinic. I’m so happy I found my dentist here and couldn’t be more satisfied with the care I’ve received!
Good to know
Common Questions
Does CCBST have a student dental plan?
No. CCBST is a private career college, and private career colleges do not run student health and dental plans the way the public universities do. There is no student card that covers your teeth. What you may have instead is coverage through a job, a spouse, or a policy you bought when you arrived.
I am on a study permit. Am I covered for dental care?
Almost certainly not through the Canadian Dental Care Plan, which is for residents meeting income and residency rules that a study permit generally does not satisfy. If you bought private insurance when you arrived, that may cover you. Bring the policy and we will read it with you.
Do you speak Farsi?
Yes. Our team speaks Farsi and English. If neither is your first language, tell us when you book and we will keep the language plain and show you what we mean rather than only describing it.
Can I be seen without insurance?
Yes. Many of our patients pay for their own care. We quote the cost before we begin, and payment plans are available when treatment runs beyond what you can pay at once.
What will the first visit cost?
The consultation is free. If you need treatment after that, we give you the price before we start and you decide from there.
I just became a permanent resident. What changes?
Quite a lot. Permanent residents who meet the income rules may qualify for the Canadian Dental Care Plan, which we accept. It is worth checking as soon as your status changes, because it can make a real difference to what you pay.
Do you offer braces or Invisalign?
Yes. Dr. Arash Poursattar is an orthodontist board certified in Canada and the United States, and a certified Invisalign provider. He treats children, teens, and adults, with braces or clear aligners.
How do I get there from the Sheppard campus?
From 280 Sheppard Avenue East, walk to Sheppard-Yonge station, ride the subway north to Finch, then take the Finch West bus a few stops to Bathurst. If you drive, there is free parking at our door.
