For many years, I had the same dentist back home, and I trusted her a lot. I honestly never thought I would feel comfortable enough to see another dentist, let alone have that same level of trust. After moving to Toronto, finding a new dentist was a real challenge for me. I visited some different dental offices because I wanted to find the right place for me. But my anxiety was so bad that my hands would shake, and sometimes I couldn’t even walk through the door. When I finally went to see Dr. Ebrahim, I told him before the examination, “I’m nervous.” The funny thing is, I was actually trying to hide how badly my hands were shaking. He simply looked at me and said, “That’s my problem!” I was a little surprised when he said that. But after the examination, I understood exactly what he meant. He took his time, examined me calmly, explained everything clearly, and made me feel that I didn’t have to be afraid. Little by little, I started to feel comfortable and realized that I could trust him. I was also dealing with a back problem at the time, which made sitting in the dental chair uncomfortable for me. Dr. Ebrahim and his team understood my situation and did their best to make things easier for me. I really appreciated that. I also want to thank Dr. Mehrnoush, Dr. Pouria, and Dr. Pouya. Each of them was involved in different parts of my treatment, and I genuinely had a great experience with all of them. Honestly, I couldn’t say one was better than the other. And a big thank you to all the dental assistants as well. They were patient, kind, and supportive throughout the process. These things might seem small, but when you are someone who gets very anxious about going to the dentist, they mean a lot. I can only speak from my own experience, and my experience was this: after years of trusting the same dentist and being so anxious about seeing someone new, I was able to build that trust again with another dentist. Now I understand what Dr. Ebrahim meant when he said, “That’s my problem!” For me, it wasn’t just something he said. He genuinely took my anxiety seriously and helped me feel comfortable enough to get through it. Thank you, Dr. Ebrahim, Dr. Mehrnoush, Dr. Pouria, Dr. Pouya, and all the wonderful dental assistants for being there for me throughout this experience.
