A Short Drive From the Bayview Campus

Tyndale’s campus on Bayview Avenue is about a fifteen minute drive from our clinic on Finch Avenue West. There is free parking at the door, so you can come between classes without circling for a spot or feeding a meter.

We are open six days a week, Tuesday through Sunday, so appointments can sit around lectures, placements, and weekend work. If something goes wrong on a Saturday, you do not have to wait until Monday to be seen.

Using Your Tyndale Student Dental Plan

If you are taking two or more courses at Tyndale, you are already enrolled in the student health and dental plan. It is administered by Gallivan through myStudentPlan, and it covers dental care alongside prescriptions and vision. Domestic and international students are both included, which is not the case at every university.

You do not need to work out the details on your own. Bring your student card to your first visit and we will take it from there.

Family dental care for Tyndale University students in North York

For your household

Coverage for Your Family, Not Just You

Tyndale’s plan is unusual in a helpful way. You can add your spouse or partner and your children to it, so your household has health and dental coverage under a single plan.

That matters here more than at most schools. More than half of Tyndale’s students are in seminary or graduate study, and many have families. If your family is on your plan, you can all be seen at the same clinic, often on the same day. We treat every age, and our team includes dentists who work well with young children and with anxious patients.

What is covered

What Your Student Plan Covers

Your Tyndale plan is built around the everyday care that keeps teeth healthy. Covered care generally includes:

Exact percentages and annual limits are set by your plan and can change from year to year, so we confirm your benefits before treatment rather than guess. Cosmetic work such as whitening and veneers is not usually covered, though we offer payment plans starting at $190 a month at 0% interest.

International Students at Tyndale

At many universities, international students are placed on a separate plan that leaves dental out. Tyndale does it differently. If you are an international student taking two or more courses, you are enrolled in the same extended health and dental plan as domestic students, and it works at our clinic.

Keep one distinction in mind. myCanadaPlan, which American and international students also carry, is emergency medical cover rather than routine dental. For your teeth, use the extended health and dental plan. Most international students are not eligible for the Canadian Dental Care Plan, so please do not count on it.

Common Questions

Bring your Tyndale student card to your visit. We check what your plan covers, tell you what you would pay before any treatment starts, and submit the claim for you.

The plan covers dental care alongside prescriptions and vision, including exams, cleanings, X-rays, fillings, and extractions. Percentages and annual limits are set by your plan, so we confirm your exact benefits before we begin.

Yes. Tyndale’s plan lets you add a spouse or partner and your children for combined health and dental coverage. If they are on your plan, we can see your whole family at our clinic.

If you are taking two or more courses at Tyndale, you are enrolled automatically. The plan is mandatory unless you already have equivalent coverage elsewhere.

Yes, if you already have comparable coverage, for example through a parent, a spouse, or an employer. Opt-out requests are submitted online through myStudentPlan early in the term, and the deadline changes each year, so check Tyndale’s healthcare page for the current date.

Yes. International students taking two or more courses are enrolled in the same extended health and dental plan as domestic students. Note that myCanadaPlan is emergency medical cover rather than routine dental, so use your dental plan for your teeth.

We do not provide braces or Invisalign at our clinic. If straightening is what you need, we will refer you to an orthodontist. For small gaps or chips, bonding or veneers can often improve the look of your smile, and we are happy to talk that through.

We are at 261 Finch Avenue West, about a fifteen minute drive from Tyndale. There is free parking at the door, and Finch Station is a short walk if you are coming by TTC.
